For ages we'd dreamed of having a hide-away near the sea that we could escape to from time to time.

We'd had self catering holidays by the sea for years, ever since the children were tiny. Memories of paddling, trying to surf, boiling a kettle on the beach and bar-b-ques in the evenings are part of our family's history.
Eventually through lots of scrimping and saving and many hours on Rightmove looking at anything we thought might be a possibility here we were with a few viewings actually booked. We were like kids going on holiday, full of excitement over anticipation and possibilities.
We viewed the first three houses, nothing clicked, nothing stirred, nothing whispered 'this is the one'. Slightly deflated we arrived for the fourth and final viewing.
Beginnings
For us, it started on a sunny Friday in September 2016. We'd cleared a day in the diary, dropped the kids at school and headed for the coast...
We walked through the door and in 60 seconds we knew this was the one.

Leaving the Estate Agent in the kitchen I went up to the top room, opened the velux window and put my head out. All I could hear were the screeching seagulls and a few ducks quacking. As I looked out over miles and miles of sea and all I could think was, 'this is where I want to be'.
